Meet 5 ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ student engineers making waves in sustainable energy

A collage of students faces who did the thinkenergy fellowship

Creating sustainable energy is one of the most pressing opportunities in engineering today. And ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ students are working at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions with worldwide impacts.

Through ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s , ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ undergraduates work as a team to design and prototype energy solutions and create business plans to commercialize their technologies. And they’re far from alone in their efforts. Fellows receive mentorship and build powerful connections with experts in industry, government and academia through conference travel and meetings.

Let’s meet a few of our ThinkEnergy fellows

  • Electrical engineering major Adam Goodman is combining his passions for technology and policy to learn more about how entrepreneurship can mitigate climate change and its effects.
  • Data science and analytics major Vibha Mandayam aims to apply data science to the issue of integrating renewable energy into the existing electrical grid system.
  • Civil engineering major Courage Kusena’s goal is to build infrastructure development in the African continent.
  • Kang Shen, a mechanical engineering major, has worked on research focused on electric vehicle and lithium-ion battery simulation, energy analysis and life cycle assessment.
  • Materials science and engineering major Matt Hoffman brings experience from co-ops at First Solar and Battery Innovation Center Inc. to make a difference in the renewable energy space.

ThinkEnergy aims to enhance energy literacy among the next generation of executives, educators, politicians and technology experts (aka, leaders like you). ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will help you get the experience you need to make a lasting difference in this world.
