More than 80% of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ undergraduates, from all majors, take part in research. It’s a ubiquitous part of the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ experience.
Each semester the campus community comes together to celebrate our undergraduates’ research findings at a research symposium. It’s called Intersections, and it’s an opportunity for student researchers to present their work.
Here’s just a small sampling of what ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ student researchers are studying:
- The consequences of weight stigma in healthcare settings
- Robot arm control for individuals with cerebral palsy
- Pre-trained large language models and sociolinguistic implicit stereotyping practices
- Increased TNF response in cells of ankylosing spondylitis patients
- The impact of rural residence on the incidence of pediatric cancer in the United States
- Assisting financial risk management through market analysis, hedging strategies and payoff profiling
- The impacts of VOCs on indoor air quality and human health
- Auditory sensitivity of wild-type larval zebrafish through a behavioral hearing assay
- Changing neurophysiological responses and cognitive flexibility
- Implicit biases across diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic groups
The work ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ students present at Intersections is just the first in a lifetime of contributions they’ll make in their fields. We couldn’t be more proud of them, and we can’t wait to see your work on display soon.
